Hi My name is Janice McColm and I am married to William McColm from
Dunragit, a village close to Stranraer in Scotland. I have not really
done any research into the McColm family tree yet but I am about to
start and I have a feeling that somewhere along the line a lot of you
out there must be distant relatives. Just wanted to say hello.
Kindest regards Janice

A very nice McColm site. I am perhaps a distant relative living
near Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I descend from Mary Ethel McColm (1882-1952)
married to John Baum Geibel (1879-1942), my grandparents, who were
from Lewistown, Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, USA. My line is briefly
shown as follows: Josiah McCollum (McColm) (1834-1897) married to
Mary Ann Sankey (Sinkey). He served in the U.S. Civil War in Co. M.,
161st Regt., Pennsylvania, from September 1862-June 1865. His origin is
Scotland...perhaps a generation or two prior to him. I can't locate
the earlier family connections. 1. Charles Sankey McColm
(1857-1929) married to Amanda Elizabeth Withers (1859-1927). 2. Mary
Ethel McColm (1882-1952) married to John Baum Geibel (1879-1942).
3. Frank Baum Clayton Geibel (1906-1957) married to Ruth Elisabeth
Burgee (1916-living) 4. Bruce Burgee Geibel (living)
married to Sandra Mary Fowler (living). 4. Brenda Francis
Geibel (living). Married twice. 2. Margaret C. McColm m. Rev.
Levi Young. 2. Jessie D. McColm m. Bruce M. Warner. 2.
Charles Reed McColm m. Nora ??. 1. Emory (Emery) McColm m. Rebecca
"Becky" J. Lytle. Perhaps we can patch together the ties between
the Pennsylvania, USA, McColms and your Canadian McColms. My McColm
family originated in Scotland according to early Pennsylvania records and
family tradition. Lets have a go at it! Sincerely, Bruce B.

My children and I have found this to be very interesting. It will
help out with many school projects. It brings back many memories of
summer holidays in the Gaspe, visiting Uncle Alec on his farm. I still
remember his huge Newfoundlander dog. I remember visiting one house that
had a double-seater outhouse! Those were the days. Thank you for all
your hard work

Wow, what a lot of McColms. Seems they were a nomadic bunch and made
it to most corners of the world. My Grandfather - John William McColms
was born in Stranraer, Leswalt, Scotland and I would love to here from
anyone who has info on that particular branch of the family. His
brother Alec moved to Canada, Jim to Argentina I believe and then back to
the US, David, Lizzie & John came to Australia, not sure about the
others. I understand his father left the family when his wife Mary died
and whilst the children were very young and moved to South Africa. If
anyone out there has any info to share I would love to hear from them.
What a site! You are to be congratulated. Cheers from Downunder.

Thanks for the efforts to capture the essence of the history of New
Richmond. As a decendent of one of the original settlers, it is
wonderful to see the recognition. Would they have ever imagined that we
would put their names to print, 250 years later. Life is good.

Just the granddaughter of Leslie Martin and Alice Burton. The seventh

In the wee hours of the morning about 20 odd years ago I was watching
the credits of an English film, produced circa 1935, and suddenly
noticed a "McColm" in the credits. Does anyone know the film's title?
